Below is a list of list of people who provide related services that Western Taxidermy does not including beetle cleaning of skulls, tanning and pet services. The people in this section meet our standards of quality and reputability and are our preferred recommendations.
Beetle Cleaning Skulls
Steve's Beetle Cleaning is located in Chilliwack BC. Steve takes a tremendous amount of pride in his skull cleaning and offers a range of services at competitive prices.

Pet Services
Whisker's and Toes Pet Memorial Services is located in Vancouver BC. Yvonne is a wonderfully kind person who offers a variety of pet memorial services including floral photography scenes, skeletal cleaning and custom memorial boxes. She does not offer "traditional taxidermy" but the options she has are very tasteful. Yvonne is the only resource for pets that we are aware of locally.

Wildlife Permits
FrontCounter BC is the wildlife permitting agency for all wildlife and natural resource permit applications. There are a number of regional offices available and they tend to communicate very promptly through email. They issue new permits for "found dead" specimens and also are able to re-issue permits or recertify old specimens under a new permit to allow for their lawful possession, sale etc. As mentioned in our "Policies" page, we will not accept any specimens without appropriate documentation, regardless of their apparent age. Compulsory Inspection
BC Compulsory Inspection of harvested game species are a requiremnet of both a number of LEH hunts as well as many General Open Season hunts. Please follow the link below to the government of BC webpage. You will find the required parts to bring to the inspectors as well as a drop down menu for each region that lists all of the compulsory inspectors available. You can get your inspection done by any inspector in any region.

Tanning
Interior Tanning and Preservation is run by Ted Bocking near Sorrento BC. Ted has been professionally trained on advanced tanning techniques in the US and continues to grow and add new equipment. Their results are of high quality and cleanliness and turnaround times are good.

Trophy Scoring
Jim Thomson is a certified Boone and Crockett, Pope and Young and Big Game Records of BC official scorer. He is located in Maple Ridge. Jim will organize meetings with people who have animals that are candidates for qualifying to enter into an appropriate record system. Contact him if you have an animal that you think might make the book. If your animal qualifies, it is expected that you will pay the entry fees to have it officially entered.
